Changing Narratives

The Power of Conversation to Effect Systemic Change and Change Culture

Open and honest conversation is a powerful process in the quest to change culture.  The time needed for real generative conversation can at times be replaced by sound bites and jargon. When it comes to change projects, communication is often driven by templates and project documents, which have their place, but in themselves may not always deliver real and sustained culture change.  Our more complex and fast moving environments can stifle creativity and innovative thinking leading to a status quo and worse still, disengaged employees. (cf Heifetz).

Our associates will work with you in a way that provides a safe space for more reflective and generative conversations which help to unlock old patterns of behaviour and allow for new insights to emerge which change how people view themselves, work with others and work with purpose.

Profile

Niamh has worked in the area of people and organisational learning and development for over 20 years.  She leverages her background in psychology to bring meaning to peoples’ lives at work.  She became interested in the dynamics in work, both conscious and unconscious, which can keep us stuck in old unhelpful patterns of behaviour.

To help her learn more about these dynamics and understand how they can be worked with, she completed a masters in Leadership and Organisational Analysis which gave her a framework for exploring and working with these dynamics.  An occupational psychologist and qualified coach for over 20 years, she is also qualified as a Analytic-Network Coach which supports her belief that real and sustained change can only happen at a systemic level.

WHAT WE OFFER

What We Offer

Coaching

Coaching has established itself as a staple for developing people at all levels of an organisation. However coaching at times fails to deliver change at the strategic level and the emphasis can be overly focused on the individual without due regard to the broader system within which the person operates.  As a qualified analytic-network coach, Niamh will walk with the coachee through a number of frames or perspectives during the coaching process for a more integrated approach.

Workshop Facilitation

We know that in order for organisations to be successful, identifying and articulating our purpose is vital, the ‘why’ of our work.  Once people have articulated a shared understanding of the ‘why’ of their organisation or their work unit, then the ‘how’ and the ‘what’ will more easily reveal themselves.

With over 20 years experience in facilitation, Niamh will work with you to create a workshop to explore what it is you want to achieve. Whether it is clarifying purpose or vision, exploring your organisation or team values or simply providing a safe space to take stock and reflect on what has been achieved and to envision the future.

Team Dynamics

Mixed messages, assumptions and  unconscious dynamics at times can get in the way of creating and sustaining a well functioning and happy team dynamic.

Taking a psychodynamic approach to exploring issues that may be impeding progress, Niamh will work with your team in a facilitative way to uncover blocks to success and move a team into a more open and honest way of being with each other.  This will lead to more open conversations, improved relationships and release more energy to focus on the business.

Niamh is also a qualified MBTI practitioner and on request can use this tool as part of a bespoke workshop for your team.
