1. Raising Self-Awareness:
Understanding yourself first as a person is key to getting the best from others. Self-awareness and understanding your preferences is a module which will use the MBTI to explore your preferences and how they might support you in your new role.
The more you know about yourself, what drives you and how you relate to others, the more you can adapt to the needs or your team members and build and maintain better relationships.
2. Creating a Motivational Environment
Creating an environment where team members feel valued and motivated is a module which explores research in the context of your team and the work environment. It will give you an understanding of what people need from work and explore how you as a manager can meet those needs in your particular context.
3. Prioritising and Managing Your Time
Are you at full tilt every day and yet never seem to get time to focus on what is really important. Then this module will give you space to stand back and take stock of where you are spending your time. What is your current approach to managing your time and commitments both within work and outside work? What are your current habits when it comes to managing your time, which ones serve you well and which ones need to be eliminated. The goal of this module is that you have a plan you can put in place that will allow you to free up more time for the important things in your work and personal life.
4. Introduction to coaching for managers
Understanding what coaching is and how you can employ the skills of coaching with your team members is seen as a core competency for managers. This module will introduce you to a simple and easy to use coaching model and the associated micro skills which underpin it. There will be an opportunity to practise and receive feedback in a safe and contained way during the module.
